Our Story

Freedom Joystick was founded in 2026 by a handful of developers who missed the feel of arcade cabinets: instant, fair, and entirely about the player's own reflexes and timing. We wanted to bring that same feeling to the browser — no plugins, no waiting for downloads, no fine print between you and a good game. freedomjoystick.com launched in 2026 as our first and only site.

We are a new studio, and we say so plainly: this is our launch year. Freedom Joystick is home to four original browser games, each built from scratch in HTML5 canvas and JavaScript, and each designed around a single rule: the better you get, the better you do. There are no loot boxes, no energy meters, and no ads interrupting a run.

What We Believe In

• Every game should be free to play, forever.
• Practice, not spend, should decide the outcome.
• A browser tab is a good enough launcher — nothing to install, nothing to update.
• Fast load times and clean design matter as much as gameplay.

The Team

We're a distributed team of engineers and designers who play what we build. Most of us cut our teeth on classic arcade and console games from the 80s and 90s, and it shows in everything from our color palette to our pixel-perfect UI.
